    I mix this up 30 minutes before using, then pour 1/2 the mixture into a high flow area, wait 15 minutes then add the rest.

    I think that the people that expect to soak this stuff for a half hour and dump it in their tank then are disappointed because they don't see much happening don't really understand how it works.

    There isn't anything in there that a fish wouldn't encounter in the wild, and if you had a working cleanup crew going in your tank there is no reason this stuff should be a problem.

    Microplankton cannot be seen with the naked eye and some species are too small even for a hobbyist microscope.
