I think that the people that expect to soak this stuff for a half hour and dump it in their tank then are disappointed because they don't see much happening don't really understand how it works.

I even had a brittle star appear in the tank that could only have come from the reef bugs feedings.

There isn't anything in there that a fish wouldn't encounter in the wild, and if you had a working cleanup crew going in your tank there is no reason this stuff should be a problem.

And at that point you probably shouldn't be trying to grow coral anyway.

Copepods are zooplankton, and this product does not provide them.

Many microorganisms can survive being dried out and stored the way reef bugs are stored - they are not dead.

It would be like chucking an entire bag of dry seaweed into the system all at once, instead of correctly adding barely enough for your fish to eat in a few minutes - too much at once is a bad thing for any closed system.
