Pros & Cons

Pros

This tripod is stout, tight, heavy and stays where you lock it in place. I love sturdy solid strong survivalist last forver get what you pay for kinda stuff.

Speaders prevent the legs from suddenly moving outward, which would severely damage the delicate binoculars. footprint is huge, you need 4-6 feet between each leg.

The crank part is great for fine tuning height. It is also easy to use and very adjustable. I’m keeping it at about its thinnest, it only gets more stable at the wider setting.

This thing is heavy but well worth lugging around on events like weddings. I timelapse thunderstorms so needed something sturdy that can handle wind. Yes, it's heavier and harder to carry long distances (and i'm trying to find some sort of backpacking...  Read More

I bought this tripod primarily because i severely injured my right hand and i need the geared center column to be able to raise or lower my camera with any degree of accuracy

I set all of them up with a lensalign and the camera remained firmly on target for hours at a time

Noticeably absent was any kind of droop between adjusting the height and tightening down the center column and any movement while framing other than what i wanted and thats with the center column up about 534

I thought my old bogen 3021 was sturdy but this puts it to shame

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Two drawbacks first the footprint is huge you need 46 feet between each leg and second its kinda heavy

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Its not too heavy i would carry it a couple of blocks but no way is it going up a trail

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Id give it a try if youre getting frustrated with drooping or swaying in the wind
