Picture this. You're stuck in the woods with a broken sled. You've probably spent the better part of your afternoon digging out and trying to get back, but you realize it's getting dark; you'd be better off to stay the night, build a fire and hunker down (ride out in the morning at first light. You've carried a couple bottles of water, but you drank those. Eating snow lowers your core temp and well, will likely give you jardia. Wouldn't it be nice to have a pot to melt snow and purify it--not to mention drink some warm liquid to warm you up. If you have this device, you will have the ability to melt snow, create plenty of life sustaining water and stay warm. These take up virtually no room in your backpack or tunnel bag. You can place it directly over the fire. Carry a small collapsible stove too if you want it all. But I won't leave home without one of these on my sled. Trust me, you don't want to be dehydrated and have to eat enough snow to get the fluids you need.  Read Less
