Pros

The knife is still sharp, and works well, but. Easy to handle and sharp as a tack, it's my wife’s fave. It's unbelievably sharp. I think i'm going to get a trizor sharpener for it and my other knives.

Relatively cheap and great performance. Price is almost half what you’d pay for a comparable knife this good. Nice traditional and well known japanese knives are at least $100 to $400 more expensive, so this price is amazing. Comes in a nice gift box,...  Read More

The mac is a very sharp knife that slices through veggies easily. It's very light and thin, which works really well for slicing and chopping through onions and vegetables.

The sharpness and maneuverability are the things i like about it the most. There’s a an almost ethereal quality to them.

This is a highly rated knife on an independent cooking site that i like, and i needed i smaller knife that i could maneuver better. This knife was recommended to me in tokyo by a master chef at a restaurant. I like it much better than a typical chef's...  Read More

Cons

There is a gap where the handle meets the blade at the front end of the handle because the knife tang is forged with a slight convex curve. This is very sharp and performance is perfect but it chipped 4 places and rusted many spots only using 5 days.

Total bevel angle (sum of the bevels on both sides of the blade) is 45. It is for a right-handed person. There is no indication the knife was made in china as another reviewer claimed.

Quality

Bought this set to leave onboard and we couldn’t be happier with the quality and sharpness of the blade

From the first cut i was completly satisfied by the quality of the knife

For the money i probably should have stuck with the same brand knife i already had

For me choking up and pinch grip can sometimes hit me wrong with the angular spine of the knife

Price

Price is almost half what you’d pay for a comparable knife this good

Overall its definitely a step up from the 2050 dollar knives ive had in the past so the price seems fair

Packaging/appearance

Not only a stunning and elegant knife but comes in beautiful giftable packaging thank you me lol

Competitiveness

Easy to handle and sharp as a tack it’s my wife’s fave

I ended up buying a wusthof santoku and that had a nonstick surface that didnt stop me from making fast repeated cuts

I have a wusthof knife and this mac blows it out of the water

I wanted a smaller knife than a typical 8inch chefs knife

The draw back to this is it is that it should not be left in the sink as it will rust as ours has

Also it needs to be sharpened at a different angle than usual chefs knives and there isnt much material to hone
