Pros

The knife is still sharp, and works well, but. Easy to handle and sharp as a tack, it's my wife’s fave. It's unbelievably sharp. I think i'm going to get a trizor sharpener for it and my other knives.

Relatively cheap and great performance. Price is almost half what you’d pay for a comparable knife this good. Nice traditional and well known japanese knives are at least $100 to $400 more expensive, so this price is amazing. Comes in a nice gift box,...  Read More

The mac is a very sharp knife that slices through veggies easily. It's very light and thin, which works really well for slicing and chopping through onions and vegetables.

The sharpness and maneuverability are the things i like about it the most. There’s a an almost ethereal quality to them.

This is a highly rated knife on an independent cooking site that i like, and i needed i smaller knife that i could maneuver better. This knife was recommended to me in tokyo by a master chef at a restaurant. I like it much better than a typical chef's...  Read More

Cons

There is a gap where the handle meets the blade at the front end of the handle because the knife tang is forged with a slight convex curve. This is very sharp and performance is perfect but it chipped 4 places and rusted many spots only using 5 days.

Total bevel angle (sum of the bevels on both sides of the blade) is 45. It is for a right-handed person. There is no indication the knife was made in china as another reviewer claimed.

Quality

Easy to handle and sharp as a tack, it’s my wife’s fave.

Sharp, light, and super-comfortable to handle, this knife is the best santoku knife we've ever had.

Insciption on the knife (which i liked a lot) turned shabby (you can see on the photo).

One should note: with any chef or santoku knife, you never hack through bones.

Price

All in all a great knife for the money.

In summary i would recommand to buy this knife though its quit pricey.

Packaging/appearance

Not only a stunning and elegant knife but comes in beautiful, giftable packaging (thank you, me lol!

The box is really nice for gift giving.

Competitiveness

This is my first santoku, so i can't compare it to others.

The thin blade cuts easily and isnt tiring to use but its stiff enough to keep its shape when repeatedly being snapped to a magnetic holder

As with all knives including stainless steel its important to rinse them immediately after use europe then dry with a cloth and sure them since that isnt damp
