It beats any knife in our block. Believe the hype.
The santoku knife is worth twice what you will pay for it. With proper care (hand clean, no dishwasher) this knife will be around longer than you are.
This knife is my go to tool for most slicing/chopping jobs. I use it for everything, except when cutting large starchy vegetables. The curved cutting-edge allows you to mince stringy food very finely.

I like wustof and messermeister best among european makers but those knives are less sharp need more frequent sharpenings and they are a touch too heavy

Tojira is not quite as sharp as mac and bit more difficult to hold
