Pros & Cons
Pros
The new balance rainier is a finely crafted rugged boot. The shoe soles are very comfortable.
Paired with darn tough socks i wear these from -10 to 95 degrees and they perform every time. They're comfy while wearing thin ankle socks (texas heat) to multiple-layered wool socks (colorado cold) they warm and dry the boots from inside out.
They're lightweight and extremely comfortable. Made of rugged material and are infused with gortex. Hard to find comfortable, durable boots for my line of work.
These boots have lived up to all of my expectations without fail. They are perfect for the at. As a work boot or for military/law enforcement work, they are excellent. These are amazing!
Cons
Felt like slippers. Stiching is worthless. Rubber has changed to one that is cheaper and makes hiking slippery terrain dangerous.
This seemingly comfortable boot is plagued by poor quality and durability. These boots have very little wear on them, and have self-destructed.
Highlights
Quality
Still great quality great fit no water inside
Figured i’d take a chance because they seemed sturdy and the fitment was very impressive
After ten years the rubber soles rotted and were unwearable
Hard rugged work nearly every day hiking and the occasional back country rescue assisting injured hikers as part of the fire department
Price
These boots that i paid half the retail for will be purchased again at full price gladly
I had it repaired for a couple of dollars and they have been great since
I got these on clearance for less than half of what they go for at the retail price
They are a little expensive but i think they are worth it
Shipping
They arrived in just a couple days
Competitiveness
Spend wisely these are the best brand going
Lowa is the only brand of hiking boot purchased by the ymca of the rockies for use as rentals that says a lot for the brand
They provide better ankle support than one of the other brands i wear so for hiking in heavy rocky mountain terrain these will be nice

I have worn a hole through the heel this is the most obvious point for wear to occur but the design is a thin layer of rubber over some type of foam filler
