Its better than the old one in a few ways seems sturdier wider slats a smaller bottom rack and an edge piece or lip that should keep things from spilling off the edges

Theres a rather large gap at the backbottom of the lower shelf when it folds out so if you were to place utensils or even larger serving utensils on the bottom shelf they fall through

I inherited one of the cheap plastic dish drying racks but have hated it since we moved in

My major complaint with this drying rack is it doesnt hold utensils well
