In many ways this is reminiscent of some of the early heinlein stories and is both enjoyable and scientifically accurate

I think it would of made a better story to not lie and cover up alien life

One minor bit of fantasy creaks in as a stable orbit becomes unstable resulting in a crash landing but without backup in the story
