Pros & Cons
Pros
Action in this excellent read is nonstop. The first book in a series is sometimes a bit clumsy. A quirky person, fun reading.
The main character is personable and likeable. Vandyke's narrative style brings you in as the story progresses.
Cal an ex-cop is hired to find a kidnapped young girl. In the novel, cal is contacted by a woman whose daughter has been kidnapped. The case takes a weird twist when cal realizes there’s someone lurking behind the clues.
Cons
Really did not find the interesting or captivating. The mystery is never really solved. Even as a free book it is not worth the time.
This novel is too full of gaping holes. Only the rookie protagonist is smart.
Cal" comes off as paranoid and buggy. Why would anyone need gps to get from sf to mill valley? Cal arrives in mill valley and turns off her gps.

Also not realistic that a cop or former cop who is the main character is the one who covers for the ones who facilitated the heist and illegally obtained millions of dollars
