An opening in the middle is secured closed by magnets. The only weakness is that that i have to sometimes close it up by hand. The magnets are strong and hold up well.

Product indicates it is 36. Measures only 35 wide. The width of my doorway is 32’. This product is messy looking and painful to use if it’s on a main doorway.
