They are water soluble though so would not recommend for outdoors in rainy or humid areas

Some colors it takes longer the blue and purple didnt take as long as the others

Basically you have to wait until the sponge tip is totally soaked and a small puddle of color just starts to form on the chalkboard

But you do have to shake them and hold the tip down every time you use them and sometimes while you are using them you have to shake and resoak the tip
