You must first take off the outside cover and you later slide the guts into the cover as it hangs out the window

So if your ledge is more than 4 inches then you will have to do some modifications aka bricks 2x4s or something in order for it to work

In the picture one can see the vents so this wall mounting will not overheat but the unit should be in a sleeve
