    These do protect from surges but once a decent sized surge hits this, it is trash (like those surge strips).

    This type of surge protector is ideal for those spaces/purposes where access is not easily accessible such as behind refrigerators, or even for purposes such as connecting a dishwasher to an outlet under the sink.

    I can understand how some people would be reticent to purchase such a device since it is a single use surge, like most are, that once it is blown it no longer protects against surges.
