Pros

Simple installation, indicator light is helpful. Since connections are identical to traditional outlets, installation requires no special effort. Good leviton quality.

Tr receptacle is no more difficult to install than any other receptacle. Easy to ditch the *, old, plastic outlet plates. Nec requires tr receptacles for most applications.

The leviton t5280-e offers reliability and safety in a sleek package. It has a tamper resistant shutter based design that complies with most electrical codes. The receptacle has a tiny led to confirm that is indeed surge protecting.

Cons

Did not protect my 60in plasma from surge of simply flipping some breakers a few times. These connectors aren't brass, they're brass-plated steel. No center hole to attach a multi plug, however, is thoughtless.
