Of course, ymmv though. I like the clean, tight feeling from the alum and it seems to calm my skin. I also like that it came in a cardboard box instead of a cheap plastic holder. Only downside is that i’ve found it to irritate my skin slightly.
Perfect scent free deodorant, aftershave, and general antiseptic. I prefer this, because i often apply a cologne after shaving.

The reason i gave four stars is that it takes a little longer than a styptic pencil to stop a nick from bleeding
My brother recommended this to me years ago and i will never go back to traditional aftershave products again
Find this much more effective than a styptic pencil
Its not as good as a styptic pencil for stopping bleeding though and can take awhile to stop larger cuts

The alum block worked and it was neat running the block over my face but for me it dried out my face a little too much

For a more experienced shaver who doesnt have this issue i think a witch hazel splash will do better at calming the face down
