Pros
The probe on this is a bit thicker than others but not a problem or a benefit per se, just fyi. Seems to be very accurate. It's lightweight, stays in the meat without falling over.
Cons
The thermometer is not waterproof or dishwasher safe. In fact, it instructs the owner to wipe clean with a damp cloth.
The red meter arrow goes the wrong way. Also the red arrow just hangs at the bottom of the dial.

I figured if they were actually willing to mark a boil test on the dial face i would be willing to give one of these a try

The thermometer reacted very quickly and the closer it got to the 34boil test34 mark it slowed down and then finally stopped moving it was reading right on the mark

The bottom line is if your not sure just do the boil test as soon as you receive any thermometer you buy if it fails to read within its claimed accuracy which in this case is or 2 deg

I used to use a meat thermometer of the style that has a quartersized dial it was so hard to read and of dubious accuracy
