Looks like it might be too small for that job but if you have a 29 gallon or smaller this would be great for that

Ive looked all over for a gravel vacuum that would work with my 25 gallon salamander tank poor girls environment was getting a bit less than liveable and finally turned to amazon when all others i checked failed

Im talking about picture 2 on this if you look closely at the hose it is only 12 on

The diameter of the vacuum is too narrow for the diameter of the drain hose

Only reason i say this is because it will fill with gravel and you have to stop the flow of water out of the end of the hose in order to release the gravel
