Pros
The stainless steel is great, no rusting. The kettle is pleasingly solid, all stainless and has a temperature gauge built into the lid. It has an optional removable stainless slide control inside the pot.
More expensive model has thermostat temp control but i'm perfectly happy with the simpler model. Heats quickly. Better than a complicated digital gadget.
Kitchenaid coffee pot has 1000 watts of power. I usually only get 1 year out of a percolator, so i'm hoping this pot will last me for years to come. A quibble is that the handle sits too high and the ergonomics suffer when pouring.
Cons
The lid seems to trap condensation along the rim, which then leaks whenever the pot is poured. Absolutely ridiculous. Which makes the rating that i’m assigning puzzling. I will be getting a different electric kettle from another maker.

If i want a lower temperature for herbal or green tea i can easily see the temperature gauge and manually shut off the kettle
