The solution is to make sure you hold down tightly on the top specifically including the plastic removable part

I think its reasonable quality for the price point but it does smell a little like burnt motor oil when its running which isnt that nice

Blender works well but pitcher is hard to reattach to base after cleaning washing pitcher with base attached does not always get it clean
