While the book is written in an autobiographical format it is an entire account of nilsens upbringing and contains actual excerpts from nilsens own writings including some disturbing drawings that nilsen made depicting his victims after death

I mostly liked the efforts made by the author to delve into the whyof the crimes a lot of interesting psychological speculation was included and a lot of words from the perpetrators mouth that gave me a feeling of closure almost as if at least some explanation of these bizzare crimes was offered up

My only complaint is that its difficult to read the writing on the images nilsens drawings journal entries it would have been helpful if were typed out and it seems pages are missing at the end as it stops in the middle of a sentence
