I can't tell if it's real metal, but the black rubber clip is very tough to move, which makes it very unlikely to open accidentally (good), but difficult to open on purpose (okay).

For some reason our keysmart was missing this piece.

The design is genious but i have a feeling that the plastic slender piece that is used to lock and unlock will not hold up very long.
