Worked well in the replacement of the old unit that failed from the oem.

I'm very happy with the new office chair gas lift cylinder replacement by katu , as on right now i haven't installed it yet, but it looks just like the one that's in my chair.

Installation was a breeze, but removal of the 3 year old gas cylinder was a bit tougher than presented.

I would recommend that you watch the video on how to install this.

Also, including installation instructions might be a good idea.

Video and other online research on how to remove it provided no help.

In the end to separate the piston from the seat had to resort to the use of a sledge hammer applied to the metal seat support while holding onto the piston.

After 4-5 smacks the piston started to break free and after 2 more appropriately directed impacts the seat went flying down and the piston stayed in my nephews hand.
