You have to hold option key on ur mac book and select your audio to your tv

The only potential issue is that the dongle on the hdmi end is pretty bulk and almost didnt fit on that monitor

For my purposes this is fine because i am not connecting or disconnecting on the monitor end however if i had to do much plugging and unplugging i dont think it would survive

I see no external damage on the connectors so i could only guess as to what the source of the failure was

It doesnt speak much for the product quality even though upon initial inspection they looked to be of decent quality

I have purchased cabling from other manufactures a brand which many probably know well and in a similar situation was told by customer service that they would not refund or replace due to improper usage by the user
