The mistake is mine for not carefully reading the product details but it seems like the listing picture is purposefully trying to mislead about the number of pieces included

Originally i had tried cleaning out the headphone jack with a dry qtip but my phone continued to playpause music on its own whenever headphones were plugged into it i confirmed that this problem was with my phones headphone jack and not the earbuds

Wasnt sure if it was all going to work not much info out there about compatibility
