One of those tools that are considered expensive but not used so much to justify plunking down large cash for one. An excellent addition to any serious woodworking shop. I'm a novice to woodworking and this jointer is my first time to own one.

It works great when used as instructed. The htc base is strong and works well. Don't skimp on the dimensions of the base.

Bed came greased well, not too heavy. Dust port allows me to hookup a shopvac.

I am extremely pleased with the smoothness of the jet jointer; it purrs like a kitten. It runs quietly and smoothly, the cuts it produces are at least as smooth and clean as the ones my makita planer makes.

Cons

When i set the fence to 90 degrees for edge jointing, the fence will not stay set. The seller apparently cares little at all about safety and is in no rush to make sure the purchaser has an operator's manual.

Overall though the quality of the product will provide me with a lifetime of use and accomplish exactly what i wanted it to do

Delivery was a breeze and there were no shipping charges

Clear instructions no missing parts no damage in shipping

Packaging/appearance

Packaging was absolutely perfect best i have seen for a heavy stationary tool

Packaging was excellent and assembly was easy although it is best to have a friend to help set the unit on the base

Most adjustments were fine out of the box except the outfeed and even that was pretty close

I opened both boxes to verify the contents

Competitiveness

Great machine once youve fine tuned it

The longbed tables allow jointing of longer boards without tipping and the dust port allows me to hookup a shopvac

The manual does not do a great job of explaining how to operate and adjust the infeed or outfeed tables

After running 5 10ft boards through it hardly a speck of anything anywhere
