Pros & Cons

Pros

Strong beyond my wildest expectations. Nice long rope. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

It is rare now days, but a real pleasure, to buy and try something that works better than expected. Honestly, this product is better than i could have expected. I highly recommend it!

The assembly and dis-assembly is fast and simple. With the floats it is quite easy to do and not strenuous. Only complaint is the straps that hold the floats on rip. Undid and wrapped it around the screw.

The * rake is lightweight, easy to assemble, comes with attached 25' of floating poly rope. It is a little heavy for me (5'2 lady) but only if i'm using it against the shoreline. The rake is sturdy and very little assembly was required.

Cons

It's lightweight, well made, but doesn't cut down cattails. Fasteners need to be more durable. The aluminum teeth are anything but sharp.

The submerged rake works 20-40% of the time. This comes with a 1/4” yellow nylon rope that is too thin. The smaller rope tangles and can injure a hand or finger when tossing rake. The rake float fasteners broke after a couple of throws in the water.

Have a small pond 12 acre that has not been cleaned in a number of years and is not looking healthy with surface floating algae live and dead cattails and reed grass

The bottom of the pond has a significant layer of algae

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

After about halfadozen casts and pulling the rake back through the vegetation consisting of cattails and reed grass one of the velcro straps holding a float broke and is lost somewhere in the pond

My examination of the other three straps shows significant wear

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I believe this was caused by trying to rake the floating algae from the surface vegetation and the friction caused by raking the vegetation over the sharpened tines caused the wear and subsequent failure of the strap
