I thought it was going to work like a regular 3way bulb

Being used in a vintage milk glass lamp with a 3way switch bulb does not heat up like a regular bulb so no chance of glass cracking

It is not a good selection for a 3 way lamp as you would have to rotate the switch many times to get to the wattage you want
