The optics are low enough quality that i'm not sure the resulting picture is any more clear than iof i just took an iphone picture without telephoto and cropped to the narrow region.

The set screw on the collar that holds the tripod doesn't travel far enough to snug up the collar on the lense (manufacturing or design spec defect).
