Pros

Port 1 of this switch is connected to my powered usb hub for my pc. Switching this manually, between two computers is as simple as pie. Works first time and switches both on the keyboard and the button.

It works as directed and is very reliable! My coworker says it works the same way for her. There was a little bit of a learning curve to lock/and unlock. This little jewel makes it possible to at least make that more difficult.

Cons

Although it advertises as automatic it is not automatic detection. You have to run it by manually double clicking on the desktop shortcut each time you start your computer. Just has a * switching mechanism.

Was a nightmare. Don't be fooled by the advertising on the box or even in the installation manual. This makes it totally unusable.

I continue to have success using iogear switches between windows and linux machines

The iogear peripheral sharing switch appeared to be a good solution

So if your usb cable lengths are too long greater than 25ft it may not work due to line loss

I have a lenovo thinkpad pc laptop and an hp pc desktop
