Fireman switch when wired properly turns off the heating element about 20 minutes before your filter shuts off thus allowing the heater to cool down and not be shut off with hot water in it thus adding to the life of the unit and preventing the knocking sounds it would otherwise make after shutting it off

Plenty of room in the panel for 120v and 240v connections the latter using two breaker slots per connection out of the available eight
