I have routed sound via the cameras external microphone ports and thus via inogeni and also separately from the inogeni and have not had lipsynch issues either way

First of all you may as well ignore just about everything thats listed on inogenis website

Your capture wont work with vlc there are far too many hoops to jump through to get this to even show you a single frame you wont be able to use inogenis own simple viewer and sooner or later youll resign yourself to capturing video with ffmpeg a free program that knows how to capture video streams
