It's a plastic camera with an ir ring attached to a stationary base.

At this price point, you can trade the hd to get a pan/tilt model if you prefer that over a higher quality picture of this model.

At this point i haven't found a way to use 3rd party monitoring software with the camera and have a support ticket open with the vendor.

Also, if you have cameras from other manufacturers the isecurity+ will not support them so you'll have to use multiple apps for your setup.
