The hardware does show the chinese manufacturing name but unless you are looking really close you wouldnt see it

It smells like real leather and looks like real leather and the color is yummy

Furthermore its so wellstructured with little metal feet on the bottom and stiff sturdy leather that it stands up on its own no matter where i set it down
