I have old dell 19 monitors from 2005 and they have a much more vibrant colour reproduction. Sound coming out from it is barely audible even with all sound settings to the maximum.

The answer is one of practicalities the vesa mounting points on my acer monitor were lower than those on the prolite monitor causing a difference in the height of the monitors on the stand

The second monitor came direct from amazon and had a uk plug unlike my first monitor which came from a third party supplier and had a continental plug

Both monitors have been calibrated to my system and seem although time will tell to be working correctly
