    Two magnets work in tandem to ensure that the door shuts tight after the pet passes through the door (one in the door, one in the frame), and when the door arrived, the one in the frame had fallen out (my only criticism).

    I made sure that the handyman was aware that he needed to orient the offending magnet correctly in order for the magnets to attract rather than repel one another so that the door closes properly.

    Then i closed the door, and when the cats wanted to go out, i would grasp their bodies and gently push them through the door, head first, so that they would understand they needed to use their heads to push the door open.

    Took my cats s few tries to figure it out but they no longer claw the screen .
