yes the fan some times works and if you happen to put only one hard drive it does not even spin even after long timei used different brand of hard drives most of the them were hard to fit very tightyou need push and remove in a hard way
I have to return this product for defective not happy removing and putting hard drive it did put some scratches on my hard drives on the side
Cables for sata and usb were very short poor design
