To install the phone into the dock i put the phone in touching the center arm and gently push up and in on the lower edge so the phone rocks into place

To remove i again lift up on the lower edge of the phone and rock it out

Once the phone is in the dock i just plug it in via my micro usb cord to give the phone power

The only con that i have is that the nfc chip built into the center arm isnt rewriteable at least not that i have found so assigning it to do something other than launch the factory command is not possible

The dock and drive app for the phone does work ok with the chip but will take some getting used to as it has its flaws

Note that the top gripping arm of this dock will depress the volume updown keys on the nexus 5x

Furthermore the back of this dock obscures the fingerprint sensor so you must unlock your phone first before installing it in the dock

Also the nexus 5x will not detect the docks nfc tag just by being placed in the dock
