    I totally meant to do that is a really funny and poignant memoir made up of essays written by jane borden.

    In it, borden is trying to decide, once and for all, whether she's going to be a new yorker and forsake north carolina, or if she's going to go home to north carolina and leave new york city.

    It's the way she goes back through her own essays, bound in this very book, and picks apart her own words and writing, figuratively (and maybe even literally) smacking herself in the forehead for writing certain spots.
