The base claim is connected to the flex arm and the phone claim is packaged separate with the nut to secure it to the flex arm

The unit seems to be made of durable plastic and also has rubber pads in the phone claim to hold it in place and also keep it from damaging phone

However i think that may be a necessary characteristic of the design otherwise the phone may be too heavy and cause the pipe to fall over

Its not going to work out for anything like a phablet or the larger of the phones that have a fairly large screen as its at the limits of being able to hold on to my lg stylo
