Purchased b/c of covid 19 and the stay at home directive. It has a modest footprint and so it is easy to set up in your home office. It is 95% dependable.

The sheet feeder works very smoothly and reliably. Sometimes it isn't always the greatest at feeding the paper without a little babysitting. My only issue is that the feeder rollers sometime do not grab sheets and i have to clear the jambs/misfeeds.

Overall, this product performs very well. The product works as advertised. Everything else works flawlessly.

Cons

The adf jams all the time for no reason. It says sheet feeder empty and does not scan. I have to hold the paper snug against the adf roller or it will not feed paper.

The n6310 is a much better scanner in adf feeding and scan quality even though it is a older discontinued model. Scanning a b&w document in b&w mode results in poor text legibility. The 2500 needs to be discontinued.

Software * and is almost nonexistent. It refuses to work all the time. Software is 500 mb in size--ridiculous. If it has any function at all.

Competitiveness

By far this scanner exceeds all of the competition with its single pass duplex scanning

Big improvement over my older hp model

Other scanners use the paperport software which i had with a highend visioneer scanner and this software was not great

Interface to computer is through a usb2 cable not ethernet or wifi
