    The dvd drive detaches via a green plastic slide-clip arrangement, and after plugging the new drives into sata 1 & 2 with an appropriate power extension, i was able to attach the dvd drive's drawer plate to the front panel, minus the drive itself.

    The pci-e video card, although not a high-end one, has displayport and hdmi outputs, and is more than up to the task of handling all graphic tasks, including youtube tv at high resolution, with decent refresh rates (60hz) on both displays.
