The book has dozens and dozens of fun tidbits like this. Highly recommend for psychologists and educators. Richard davidson on well-being through attention connection insight and motivation could have been mentioned.
Dr. Dehaene is the director of a neuroscience imaging center in saclay, outside paris. He is one of the best neuroscience writers extant for a general english audience, rivaling robert sapolsky.
Curiosity is a fundamental mechanism of conquering. In effect, how it learns to learn. It is always better to spread out the training periods rather than cram them into a single run.

If anything would recommend to expand on the role of emotions in learning and reaction and also the genetic algorithm method in describing how we refine information guess check reasonability give as much structure as to be transmittable to others and be checked

I found it a pity that dehaene does make little or no mention of insights about social learning or emotional intelligence skills and focuses exclusively on iq skills of calculation and language
