I enjoyed the almost runyonesque account of the adventures of a young man in the early decades of the last century first wandering the american west as a cowboy and then becoming a flying ace in wwi

This was truly a unique book and just a wonderful story about a young man growing up in the western us learning to break horses and eventually moving to canada where he joined the army just as wwi broke out in europe

Also the afterward was confusing as you didnt know who wrote it or who it was about

I gathered it was written by the authors granddaughter but it was a little confusing
