No special wiring needed to connect it up and the touchscreen makes it easy to use. Was a pretty easy install with a trane heat pump. Wires for me r & w.

Cons

This model of honeywell programmable thermostat is absolutely, positively worthless. I'm upset that they mislead its universality, and encourage ameture installation. Only accepts wires a certain size not specified (>18awg).

Programming the thermostat through the touchscreen to actually control the hvac system was impossibly complicated. The temperature seems to skyrocket to 71 during this low humidity heating season. Temperature readings consistently lower and inaccurate... Read More

User's guide is vague and doesn't match screens. It's very very very time consuming and not intuitive, and it's incredibly convoluted. Reset and reprogrammed several times. Called tech support and got cut off twice.

After 12 years of faithful service my emerson 1f80 thermostat started having problems

This is an exceptional value and i did not have to sacrifice my internet security or become reliant on a cloud service to do it

For less than fifty cents they could have built in a bubble tube at the bottom of that plate

Most thermostats under 100 do not have the circulate fan mode

It was easy to install and it’s a lot better than the one from the 70s we took out
