This is a great system. I read a lot of reviews here first and wanted to to find out more about the restrictions on camera connections and IP addressing. Being a network person as part of my profession I had technical questions that weren't found in the reviews so now that I have the system, let me make a couple of networking clarifications for those that are interested.First of all, and most importantly - you DONT have to connect the cameras to the dedicated network camera ports on the NVR. This is barely mentioned in one sentence in the documentation and probably gets overlooked. The advantage of connecting to those ports, is that they are POE ports and supply power to the camera. Secondly, those ports assign an IP address to each camera as coming from an internal DHCP server, so it keeps them isolated from your main network. CoolSo - if you want to put a camera in remote location, you DON'T have to run a dedicated CAT5 or 6 cable all the way back to your NVR. The NVR accepts cameras plugged in on your general / management network, so if you have a network jack in a room in another building and it is on the same network and subnet as your NVR, just either buy the 12v power adapter for the camera from Reolink or get an ethernet power injector on Amazon and you're good to go! The camera IP will have to be provided by a DHCP server somewhere on that network, that's what the scan button is for on the NVR setup, it scans for cameras on the connected LAN. REALLY COOL! That is the information that was driving me crazy trying to find out - how these can be connected and the fear that I had to start running hundreds of feet of cable all over the place, most likely, you don't have to, especially if it is a business environment. As a side note, it MIGHT be able to connect to other makes of cameras, because it detected my TrendNet cameras on the network and even identified the model and added them to the detected list. They don't work though, because they require a password on each camera and the NVR interface doesn't seem to have a password field for cameras, weird, unless I missed it.Hope that helps somebody.
