No assembly required other than attaching the my passer one timer, if desired.

The pad is very high quality - apparent because the puck glides smoothly, mimicking the way the puck moves on the ice.

It was indeed rolled up in a box, however after leaving it on a flat surface for day or two it was bent back straight and flat.
