Use a small flat screwdriver above the ce label in the back. This item works just fine.

Cons

Spent ~ 30 mins trying to calibrate the instrument with the equally garbage calibration pot. Turns out it's not a calibration screw, it just holds the plastic shell on.

No way to contact seller. Didn't power on. Immediately requested a replacement. The warranty also seems like no warranty at all.

It beeps but what does the beep mean as it stops and starts beeping & flashing intermittently. First time i go to switch batteries, the housing which holds the batteries won't budge.

The display is extremely dim. If the room that you're in isn't well lit, you have to hold a flashlight or magnifier to see the display's reading. While holding the hold button, part of your hand, or thumb is automatically in he way of the display.

I need to read more regarding other factors to consider for drinking water quality than just a tds total dissolved solids measurement
