Pros & Cons
Pros
Kill-a-watt device can read down to milliamps so you can even read the power consumption when your ac is in standby mode. I have these installed on circuits used to charge my ev. This one has a built-in shunt, taking up to 20 amps. Works well in my ho... Read More
This is the second meter i installed in a camper. Very easy to install for a beginner after watching 5 minutes on youtube. Good visibility and 4 lines of info.
Hiletgo dc 6 is as good as it gets w/o lab calibrated and certified test gear. The accuracy seems to be there at least for my testing range, and it seemed to agree with the numbers my bench power supply was putting out.
The screen is well readable from left, right, and down sides. The toggled blue back-light is a nice feature for night-time monitoring. There is a single button which is used to turn the backlight on and off, as well as to reset the unit.
It works amazing and as described. Solved most dc power mysteries. Nicely made, works as expected. Other than that works great.
Cons
Mine is defective. This is a serious manufacturing flaw or unacceptable design.

I have since found other uses for the ferrule kit
Packaging/appearance
Enlarging the hole slightly cured the problem
I used doublesided tape to stick it to the back of the fridge
Competitiveness
On a 50amp service you have two power circuit s so yes i put in on each leg
To my amazement these worked exactly as i had hoped and im now using them to monitor my amplifiers in my competition car audio system
My l2 charger is on a 240v 40amp circuit and the l1 charger is on a standard 120v 20amp circuit
Someone mentioned installing ferrules on wire ends before putting them into the meters
