Pros & Cons
Pros
This heat gun gets hot enough to shrink heat-shrink tubing perfectly. It is so small that you can keep it on your bench and use it whenever you have anything to unsolder. It gets hotenough to actually do some light smd solder work with the included ti... Read More
The temperature is easy to set, and the fan speed has a simple knob to adjust it. Ditto with the temperature control.
It is so much quieter than my normal unit that i can not imagine going back. Auto cool down (when you turn the switch off the heat shuts off but the fan and display keep running, until the temp gets down to 100c - then both turn off) one thing to note... Read More
Cons
The unit is handy and quiet, but does not reach 896 degrees. The terrible smell it gives of is from the tape and mica paper that is used to isolate the heating element from the grounded metal housing of the hot air station tip. Poor design keeps the f... Read More
Green dot on the screen is on. Just stopped powering on. Contacted seller about warranty and no response. Luckly, they offer free returns.
Highlights
Quality
Instant heat great craftmanship and product
I wa wasnt expecting much but it is a decent product
I bought this with intention of using with the low temp solder seal connectors that have lead and heat shrink tubing all in one
Packaging/appearance
With digital i can safely dial in the perfect temp so i dont melt the shrink wrap or start burning the polyolefin
Competitiveness
There is simply no better tool available for heatshrink tubing
Most hotair guns sold at big box stores generate a large volume of hot air but it is not hot enough to properly shrink heatshrink tubing
One thing to know is that when you shut it off the blower continues to run for 30 seconds or so so the heat element doest burn out

However the fan is so very faint even on the highest setting it didnt even move the resin which was not a good thing for me in that i needed this to do ocean waves in resin and part of that is getting that white foamy effect of waves rolling up on the sand
