Pros

Hifi 400 is an open back planar magnetic. The soundstage is expansive and the sound is transparent. They shine alot more with movies and music generes with alot of different instruments playing at once.

Hifiman has greatness in that (and every) price segment as well. I'm aware of some owners complaining about built quality. If you take price out these are at the top, but bang for your buck towards the bottom.

My dap gets loud enough, but i'd prefer sightly more headroom. Ignore the ohm rating, they need voltage from your amp.

The only complaint i can think of is the cable that these come with. Compatible with hifiman he400s, he-400i, he-400i（2.

They look cooler in person than most of the photos i've seen here. Yummy yummy.

Cons

The build quality is so poor that, 9 months after buying these, i'm in the market for new headphones. I don't think i'll buy another hifiman product again. This is the first pair (of about 10) headphones of any brand that have broken on me.

I suppose it makes a lot of sense and for the price this is amazing the sr325s cost a lot more

All this will cost you and additional 270 but it’s worth it

Packaging/appearance

The packaging is well thought out and reusable to keep the headphones safe while still looking nice

Competitiveness

Buildmuch more comfortable than the old hifiman models

At the 500 level theres a lot more competition but then again hifiman has greatness in that and every price segment as well

Im using a fiio olympus 2 and its more than enough

Ive also tried a great deal of headphones such as he400 he500 hd650s 600 598 600 650 800 mad dogs every model of shures etc
