These can be driven by a macbook and sound okay, however sound quality is much better with even a small amp.

Make sure you drive these with a dac / amp combo like a fiio k3 or a schiit stack / fulla to get the most out of them.
I'm using a fiio olympus 2 and its more than enough.
I've also tried a great deal of headphones such as he400, he500, hd650s, 600, 598, 600, 650, 800, mad dogs, every model of shures, etc.

There only design problem that i found is that the headband is quite long.

Clamp for can make your head hurt a bit, but only need to be adjusted and won't pose too much of a problem.

Eq2mac app is working fine for me with about +1-2db in the low frequency range.
