They either didnt hold strongly enough or held strong but would not stay fully retracted when under weight

Meaning if you brush against fishing line its not going to clip on to it like the other designs will

Conversely if you are using this for something more light weight like a flashlight and dont want to fight against the pull just latch it extended and it wont pull against you
